With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, now is the time to plan that special meal with someone you love! For me, it will be my son, right after school and before his hockey practice….it is a week night after all!!!!
So, to find the perfect menu I have searched through my favorite recipes from my trusted bloggers. Quick and easy!! Perfect for a mid-week Valentine’s Day.
To start you off, may I recommend Baked Brie with Caramelized Onions and Bacon. This may take a little pre-planning but simply cook the bacon and caramelize the onions the night before. As soon as you get home, put the toppings onto the brie and bake. Voila! in 10 minutes you’ll have your appetizer on the table. And, of course, the perfect wine to pair with this would be our Small Lot Series Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2012 with the smokiness of the bacon pairing wonderfully with the toasty notes of the wine…delicious!
For the second course, who can resist Lemon and Rosemary Chicken and Potatoes! An easy, one dish meal that you can prepare while the brie is baking! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Now the recipe does serve quite a bit, but if it’s just you and your sweetie, simply cut in half or do as I do….make the whole recipe and have the leftovers for lunch the next day. Pair this course with our Estate Series Riesling 2013 which has the crispness and citrus notes to pair with the lemon.
Finally comes my favorite course…dessert! This can be made in 15 minutes! You heard me right….15 MINUTES! The Chocolate Strawberry Mousse calls for a wine full of strawberry notes so pair it with our Select Late Harvest Meritage 2008. Heavenly! Not much more I can say about that.
