If you love Riesling, than this gift pack is for you!  It is a series of four wines with the only difference being the clone of the vine and age of the vine. Having been one of the original Riesling growers in Ontario, we have numerous blocks of Riesling plantings in our vineyards with different ages and clone of vines. All the grapes were sourced within a short distance from each other thereby minimizing the terroir differences and harvested on the same date. In the winery, each wine was made using the same yeast, same temperatures and bottled on the same day. You’ll be amazed at the differences the different clones and vine ages make to the flavour of the wines. This package includes the information required to host a great tasting between friends or wine clubs. Created by blending of 25% each of the Riesling Clonal Project wines (see above – Riesling Clone 239, Riesling Clone 49, Riesling Clone 21 Young Vines and Riesling Clone 21 Old Vines). Try it after you’ve tasted the Riesling Clonal Project 2009 and see if you can pick out the attributes each clone contributes to the blend. Only 39 cases made. This wine was made entirely without the additional of yeast – in the traditional way wine used to be made. Instead of inoculating with yeast, Colin allowed wild yeasts to ferment this wine. After a long, 3 month fermentation the wine underwent considerable tank aging before bottling. Compare this one to our Gewurztraminer 2009 which is made using the same juice but had undergone a controlled fermentation using typical Gewurztraminer yeast. Only 28 cases made. Given the task of creating the perfect blend, Colin emerged from his lab with this wine created by blending Wild Ferment Gewurztraminer, Riesling Clone 21 Old Vines and Sauvignon Blanc (he won’t give the exact blend away…to anyone). This wine is wonderfully full-bodied but still very aromatic and crisp. Only 41 cases made. Available exclusively at Cattail Creek Estate Winery.

A Sauvignon Blanc that has been fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Rich with notes of smoky vanilla and toast upfront but leading to a crisp, refreshing finish of gooseberry and green melon.
