My original Catastophe’s name is Lucy. She is my cat. I picked her up on the Trans-Canada Highway between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie. She was dirty, flea-ridden and malnourished. After lots of veterinary bills and fumigating my car, she became a member of our family. But she is a handful. Lucy is, by far, the smallest of our cats (in fact, only 8 pounds) but she lets us know she is around. For a small cat, she has the loudest “meow” that can reverberate through the house to picking fights with the older, and much larger, cats. At one point, it got so bad that we had to relocate our 18 pound cat, Chester, to my parent’s house for his own safety. So now Chester had been honoured with his very own Catastrophe – the Chocolate Strawberry Infusion. But we can’t forget Madison with her Catastrophe White and Holly and Dolly with their Catastrophe Red. So while everyone loves a “Cat”astrophe, these are the perfect wines to sit back and enjoy while having your own little Catastrophe.
‘CAT-ASTROPHE’ SUPPORTS THE LINCOLN COUNTY HUMANE SOCIE
TY
The family of Cattail Creek Estate Winery is a family of cat lovers! Every one of our cats have been strays that we have picked up throughout our travels in Ontario – from as far away as Sault Ste. Marie to Walter’s Falls and in our very own backyard here in Niagara on the Lake. So when we heard about the challenges faced by the Lincoln County Humane Society, we were moved to offer our support to their “Rescue Us” campaign. Therefore, 50¢ from every bottle of ‘Cat-astrophe’ White 2008 and ‘Cat-astrophe’ Red 2009 will go to support the Lincoln County Humane Society in order to give cats a better life.
